Re: Indiana title search
Their website says five years if nothing happened during that period, or 10 years if there was an entry during the most recent five years. (See link below.) My request is pending, so I have no personal experience yet.

Re: Indiana title search
This could be a moot point, because Indiana just returned my search request and my $8 check, along with a photocopied sheet saying that they provide title information only to the individuals who are named in the information. In other words, you can't obtain information about prior owners. That's not what their website says, but whatever.- Top

Re: Indiana title search
Just sent my request to Indiana today. Will let you know what happens. My car was delivered new to Dan Young Chevy in Indianapolis in 1994, but don't know yet if it was ever titled in Indiana before moving on.- Top

Re: Indiana title search
About 18 months ago, I did a title search for the prior IN owners on my 1969 Chevelle SS396. Their records showed a title transfer that occurred in 1987. From that info, I was able to locate and talk to that person, who told me the fella he bought the car from had bought it from the original owner in 1980, but Indiana's records didn't go that far back. This car had been in the Terre Haute area from day one, and he knew the original owner.
You can download the request form from this site:
