Re: Harmonic balancer dimensions
Terry,
That is exactly the measurments of the balancer I have sitting in front of me and it's the 300 hp damper.
The only thing that is different between the earlier part and later balancer is (I am not sure of the date) there are holes around the perimiter of the outer ring. The damper on my 63 does not have these holes but is otherwise the same. My memory tells me the change is around 1965, the damper I have in my hand has the holes probably for balancing.

Re: Harmonic balancer dimensions
Thanks for the response. I believe this is the original balancer removed from my engine in 1968. Engine cast A225 (Jan 22, 1965) and assembled F0127 (Jan 27th). It does have one partial hole (not through) in the outside ring potentially for balancing. I was confused because I read that it should possibly have a 6 3/4 or 7" outside diameter and the timing mark should be 2 degrees toward the 1:00 o'clock position? I have had this balancer since 1984. I called the previous owner and he too remembered it as the original. Thanks again.- Top
