    Judging Question

I joined NCRS in January of this year and have been having a ball learning all kinds of things. Currently I now have 11 judging points, which I think means I am now a Level 1 Judge.

Would someone tell me what the significance of that is? Is this something that is recognized at the chapter or national level? Any information would be appreciated.

    Re: Judging Question

you should be getting a pin from the national judging chairman recognizing you've attained 11 points. once you've gotten 100 points and become a master judge, you'll be presented the Black Hat of a master judge, given out at the national convention if you are present. otherwise, it'll get to you. good luck on your learing adventure to the master judge Black Hat. BTW, if you get the black hat, the Red Hat is the next recognition you can strive for. good luck, mike

Wow Tom, you are smoking right along if you've racked up 11 points since January...thats an average of more than 1 point per month ( I got a B- in math..) I've been a member since July 2003 and only have ..30 points. Let see, that...well...almost....nah...let's just say that is kinda sucky and forget about it.

Like that Barbra Mandle song goes... Mikie #14 was NCRS, when NCRS wasn't "cool".

Hang in there and don't be a stranger round here.

Subtle point here, Dick. The Master Judge hat award is an exception to the rule of requiring attendance at a National Convention, if I remember my Judging Reference Manual properly... This one can be awarded at Regional meets too.

PS, Tom, you now have two of the pre-requisites for a run at the NCRS Founder's Award...

            (1) Be a member of an NCRS Chapter.

            (2) Attain a Level One status in either the NCRS Judging or Tabulation recognition programs.

Tom: I believe Jack is correct, the Black Master Judge Hat can and has been awarded at regional meets. I believe the Red Master Judge Hat is only awarded at a National Convention. John
