tim, unfortunately the only two 55 that are verified in this article are 320 and 675, which is a V8. nice article, but not much in the article to back it up. the article does appear to be fairly correct, although it might be better to state that six cylinders were produced at a rate of one per month after a certain point, rather than one per month. i do agree with you that there originally were not three six cylinders cars produced from #229 to #233.
