    65 Coupe power antenna.

    Now that I have taken care of my bad snubber I need to eliminate a rattle which is due to a loose power antenna assembly.
    It appears that the only way to get to the antenna mounting brackets is to remove the left muffler. Unfortunately the previous owner welded the exhaust system.
    Any advice?
    I will cut off the muffler if necessary.

    Bruce -- Power Antenna servicing was obviously a problem for '65 and '66 owners. The June 1966 issue of Chevrolet Service News has a procedure that does not involve removing the muffler assembly. I could list the described steps (or scan the sheet, if nobody else has it handy).

    P.S. -- found a previous scan. Hope you can read the fine print.

        Bruce;

        Per Wayne's note, replacing the antenna on a '65 can be done without removing the muffler... It is tight but it can be done. I did mine over a year ago so I do not recall the process off hand, but I do know that I did not remove the muffler... mine is a welded set too....

        If you want, I will take a peek under there to see if I can figure out how I managed the process.

          Joel,
          The info I received from Wayne should help me get the job done.
          I think it is just either the bracket screws or the one holding the antenna to the bracket that is causing the noise.
          Thanks for your offer.
