Anyone have a TI restoration service they would like to recommend? I am looking to restore my 66 427 TI Box, distributor and coil. It appears that my distributor has been changed over to points system so I would like to restore to original. I would like any recommendations folks would like to give. I plan on judging the car when finished and it would be nice if it was reliable......

Re: Recommended TI restoration Services
I have used Dave Fiedler @ TI Specialties many times in the past and have always been very satisfied with the results. It ain't gonna be cheap, but, I'm sure you will be satisfied with the results. He has many NOS components in stock and can do the restoration to any level of originality you wish.

Re: Recommended TI restoration Services
Personally the days of using a NOS pickup coil are getting numbered. I mean the part is ancient before you even put it on.
Look in "The Driveline" for the new repro TI parts. We have been using the new pickup coil on the FI TI distributors with great success.
K&B also lists the "stator" has they call it.(looks like a typical distr cam with a star on top of it. It's actually the pole piece I believe. 1967928. That's a service replacement number and the part they advertise is NOSR. But they work just fine. Recap: Use the new repro Pickup coil rather than a NOS big buck original and you will be better off.
Save your plastic connector though from the original as I think you have to use it over.
See Dave Fiedler at 765-962-4265 as that's all Dave does is TI stuff. Dave's been advertising in NCRS for an eon. He's one of the good guys. JD- Top
