pulled rear differential, spring etc. to recondition. Question is what is proper way to reinstall and torque to mount...do I bolt up torque and then lower put weight back on wheels or tighten lightly and set down on wheels and then apply torque??? thanks, don't want to break ears off diff.

Tighten the four bolts lightly enough to hold the spring centered and do not torque until the assembly is complete and car weight is on the ground.- Top

Also make certain that the two spring retaining bolts that thread into blind holes in the differential are the correct length. Too long will crack the differential case, and too short will not provide sufficient threads. Need to check these carefully before torqueing.
