58 rear bow strap

    58 rear bow strap

    Any body have any pics on the straps that hold the rear bow to the upper bow to snap them together when top is down, have the straps in place but dont know where to fasten snaps on upper piece to bind the two when folding down the top, Thanks, Brad.

        Brad -

        You should have drilled/tapped holes in the top frame vertical piece behind the window for the snaps. The '57 owner's manual has a photo - don't know about '58 -up.

          Yes the 58 also shows this, is that at about the height of the top of the plexiglass window and in the center of the vertical metal?, hard to tell from that small photo. Thanks John, Brad.

              Bruce, so that snap is fastened to the window verticle about 1 1/2 inch down from top of window trim? this must make it so the bow folds up as tight as can be then snaps into place, is this correct? Thanks, Brad.

                Brad,
                The male snap is located 3/4" below the top edge of the verticle piece and 5/8" in from the inside edge opposite the window weatherstrip. Dimensions are to the center of the hole.
                The snap fastener is a 10-32 by 1/2" long phillips head machine screw.
