T-10 date stamps

I have an iron case T-10 1B with a stamped date on it of WC 70-2, or Apr 7, 1960 second shift. I'm assuming this is the ASSEMLY date of the entire transmission and if I replace the damaged alum tailshaft with a good one, but one that is dated April 19, 1960 then this would be past the assembly date and therefore be inapproriate.
I just thought I'd do a quick check before I bought a n o t h e r wrong part. Thanks. John

casting date of aluminum tail housing should be before the assembly date of the t-10. keep looking. good luck,mike

Your assembly date is MARCH, not April.

Yep March, thanks, my mistake. The date sequences was what I was looking for and that the tailshaft should preceed the main case is what I need to know. Thanks Mike, you just saved me about $200! Regards. John
