4 post lift recommendation narrow garage

I have searched the web and the forum looking for a narrow width lift to stack a C3 over a C2 with no luck. I would like to be under 90 inches maximum outside width...has anyone delt with a narrow one car garage and trying to store 2 cars stacked? Do you have a recommendation of make and model? The Narrowest is around 100" Thanks

My experience has taught me that wider is better......due to between the posts clearance and overall stability. I'd give up the 18" of floor space and get a beefy, wide lift. Just my 2c.

Dino, look up Mark Tulley in the "Members List" and send Mark an email. Mark is the most knowledgeable guy in NCRS on lifts and a good guy to boot! Gary....

Dino, I have a Direct Lift 4-post in my garage. It doesn't require permanent mounting to floor and has hd casters so it can't be moved. It is 112" wide but is portable?

        Good luck,
        John G

Dino check out Valeria's post I gave her some lift advise.
The problem with making a lift that narrow is the drive through becomes very difficult especially if you have outside mirrors on both cars. Most standard lifts have a 93in to 95in drive through. I do handle a company from Texas who will build custom lifts but keep in mind if you get a lift too narrow nothing but corvettes or some other very small car will fit on the top and bottom of the lift.
Have you looked at BEND PAK LIFTS they do make a narrow lift , but not as narrow as 90 in

i saw a two post portable lift on one of the Speed channel shows. It looked pretty good do a search and see if it will help. My 4 post lift is 105" wide and the mirrors on my sons camaro clear by about 2" on each side. So i cant imagine any 4 post much narrower.

I also am looking for a narrow lift. You might try Trailer lift companies since they have to fit inside the 90 inch space as a normal product. I am looking for an aluminum trailer lift to help reduce towed weight. Anybody know of a lift made from aluminum? Jerry

Dino, WE modified a four post lift to narrow the width. Before you assemble the lift, cut the cross beams (not in the same plane) and have them rewelded by a certified welder. Then you need to install a pipe in the ends of the cable stops to shorten the effective length of the cables. Pipe is the same length as you cut out of the cross beams. Save the cutoff pieces in case someone wants to put it back to a standard size.
It was a four hour job.

Look at the MaxJax lift. Excellent
