'61 Hood release

I am getting my '61 ready for PV and need advise on how to free up the hood release so it will return on it's own. I have a new cable but it still sticks when released and will not return by itself.

i installed much heavier springs on the female latches when i PV'd my 61. just remember to remove them when ya go for the Duntov walmut. good luck,mike

the springs were something i came up with here in my shop but it's been over 10 years ago since the 61 PV'd. the springs were essentially the same ID, OD and length, they just took more force to spread them apart, hence they exerted more force to retract and help the hood release handle return to "run" mode. i'd try a hadware store. good luck,mike
