1957 Head and compression ratio questions

I have finished rebuilding my 1957 engine project but have a few questions.
    1. What is the combustion chamber volume (cc) for the 3730997 heads?
    2. What is the combustion chamber volume (cc) for the 3731539 heads?

Trying to determine the CR for this engine. The engine was built with the 539 heads and new flat top pistons with valve reliefs made by KB model KB163. The head gaskets are Fel-Pro but I don't know the thickness right off hand. The engine is built with standard 283 stroke and std 283 bore +0.030". This is all in a std 548 1957 V8 block that I had sleeved.

    Comments appreciated.

Re: 1957 Head and compression ratio questions

    The 997 head is listed as 3740997 and cc's are 55.6685 (NHRA=55.7)

    The 539 head cc's are 60.1122

        Ted,

Here's the best discussion on compression ratio I've seen:

        https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...65121&uid=7562

It's BB related, but most of the discussion would apply to your situation.
