    63 /340 carb. date code

    When reading the date code on the 3461s carb what does the date CC3 eqaute to? I thought there should only be one c and the number after that?

    I would double check with the judging guide.. but one of the "C's" is the month (March) the "3" is the year (1963) while the second "C" is revision if I am not mistaken...

    Again, check the judging guide or wait for another member to chime in.

        Ed;

        No, what you have is a correct unit assuming your build date is March '63 or later. There are some threads on this topic in the archive... do a search on 3461S. The general view is that the first letter is the revision or version designation, the second letter the month followed by the year.

        My carb is a BA3.. second revision January 1963.. Your CC3 is a third revision, March 1963 unit.

          I believe with the AFB model change to the 3720S & 3721S designations, the revision was incorporated as a suffix to the model number, i.e. 3720SA or 3721SB, etc.

          Even I wasn't clear about the 3461S as it has been along time since I had mine on my 63, but it sounds like Joe has it nailed.

            Guys thanks for the responses, I could not seem to find anything in the JM or Nolands book.

              I've been told the second letter was the week code. So CC3 would be March, 3rd week, 1963. The Judging Guide does not mention the second character.
