    327- 350 hp gear - ratio 3.70

What is the 0 to 60 time in seconds on the 327 350 hp with a gear ratio of 3.70 ?

What is expected top speed on this corvette package ?

How fast can we cruise with this package on the highway ?

    Thanks

Set up I had in both of my 67's.
    Guessing apx 5.5 sec. 0-60
Not sure, Top speed. With those Tall Gears 125-130 mph? RPM's will be screaming.
Found with 215-75R-15 Tires was hitting 3-32000 RPM's at 65Mph.
    If my tach was correct.

Does not matter what engine is in front of it, if you have a 3.70 and a Muncie 4 speed when you get to about 80 mph the motor is screaming at about 3700 rpm and then up from there 4000 4500 at around 100-110mp with 215 70's.

        That's not screaming, that's music.

          775 (tire revs/mile) x 3.70 = 2868 revs @ 60 MPH

          At the L-79's redline:

          6000/2868 x 60 = 126 MPH

You could cruise at that speed until the L-79's four-quart oil pan gets sucked dry and the engine spins a bearing - a few minutes.

Few Corvettes of that era were configured for sustained high speed. My 340 HP SWC with 3.08 axle is an exception. If you ran the five quart SHP/FI oil pan at least full to a quart over, it could handle sustained high revs without oil starvation.

The longest high speed cruise I ever did (although I got to 150 plus briefly a couple of times) was 130 @ 5000 from the California/Nevada border to The Strip on the recently completed butter smooth Nevada section of I-15. (Little of I-15 had been completed in California, so it was still mostly two lane US Highway.) I completed the approximate 40 plus miles in about 18 minutes. If a '67 L-79 with a 3.70 axle tried to follow, he probably would have blown the engine.

That was in the late summer of 1967 when there were no statutory speed limits in Nevada.

          Oh, for those days...

I made the same trip last year but in the opposite direction as I had come into Vegas from Scottsdale, so I was traveling westbound to get back to Redondo Beach, and I mostly obeyed the 75 MPH speed limit.

I noted that the section of I-15 from Vegas to the border is still nearly glass smooth, but the instant you cross the border into California the roadway turns into a heaved and patched up piece of sh...t.

          Some things never change.

          Duke

              Scott,
Music yes, with that 427 roaring out those side pipes at 4500rpm my boys cover their ears...its pretty loud ... Duke will calculate for us if my speedometer is off.

the radar signs at 30 mph show me at 31 which was as good as it got as far a speed claibration.
