    Barn Find L-71

An incredible find. The pics are about a dozen down from the top (haven't figured out how to post pics). Would like to know the story behind this one.

Very cool! I like that they are presenting it in "as found" condition. It is a real shame it wasn't stored properly. If it was parked in 1971 with only 5,644 miles, imagine what it would look like today if it had been stored properly. Still a neat find. The only thing that I notice that is not factory would be the heater hose. Would love to see more pics.

The plug wire grounds are under all four cover bolts on one side, at least. I guess that cover was off once. I thought the AIM shows 2 grounds under 2 of the 4 bolts. Or do I have it backwards?

            Anyway, great pictures.

This shown at what used to be called the Chevy/Vette Fest in Chicago, now I think its Muscle car nationals , or something like that.
Back in the 60s Minnesota didn't use salt, they allowed studded snow tires. This Vette had snow tires on the rear and re-caps on the front.
The interior was very clean, the chassis was not rusted out.

Owner said he paid about $50k for it, but it wasn't found in a barn, it was in a garage with a concrete floor purchased from the owner's son. He says the engine runs great.

Several things on the car agreed with the story, several other things, to me, did not.
Either way, if the new owner was honest about what he paid, he got a great deal.

You are correct, and there is a flush fitting on the heater hose. I would question the stated mileage. By 71 it could have easily had 105K miles.

Appears not to have been washed. Org. dust? Maybe. But seen photos of Bob Weir (Grateful Dead) 64 Vette. Survivor, That's not even or never been washed. Lot heavier dirt.
Good to see the owner hasn't touched it yet.

I was under and over the car, the frame had some rust from what I saw.
The exhaust was original with some holes, but the car was amazing to look at. I can't remember the VIN, but the miles are 25,644, the 2 is there but not clear. The interior was very nice.

The black Z06 split window racer with "Suburban Chevrolet" on the fender in the second group of pics was originally owned by my former sales mgr. who raced it at RA and other tracks in the '60's. It was street driven when new and he said the station attendants (before self-serve) couldn't figure out how it could take so much gas...
