C1 Leaf Spring assembly - Torque on center bolt

I have my leaf springs back from re-arching, have new liners and banding kit. Is there a specific torque of the center bolt? If now, how tight should I tighten it after I assemble with the new liners.

    Thanks,

I don't know if there was ever a specific torque on that center bolt, but regardless, it really doesn't matter.
Keep in mind that the springs will be clamped between the pad on the bottom of the axle housing and the anchor plate under the springs. Once sandwiched between the pad on the housing and the anchor, the U-bolts will then be torqued up which is what will hold it all together. The center bolt/nut is simply to keep the springs in the proper alignment and the bolt head fits into the hole of the pad for proper alignment.

      Thanks Tom,

Makes sense to me and I found the torque setting U bolt nuts on the anchor plate in the service manual. I should have looked there first, it has a section on replacing leaves and says tighten the center bolt 'securely'.
