I don't get into "value opinions" very often. In this case, while the LS-7 might be very desirable, it's not going to be of value to anyone doing a restoration. Once out of the restoration market, I would say it's value ought to be about the same as the cost to build up an equivalent engine from easily available parts.

Is the engine that you are referring to an original configuration LS-7 with aluminum heads or is it the 3965774 with cast iron heads?

Not that I'm suggesting this, but if you were to "part out" the engine, the new pieces should bring somewhere in the range of $3,000 to $5,000. So, the complete engine assembly ought to be worth at least that much.

The problem is the 12:1 compression pistons. No one (in their right mind) is going to want an engine assembly with that kind of compression for the street. And, for most racing applications the engine, as-is, will not be enough for most guys these days.
