Elio:
I have cleaned up and removed minor scratches using a plexiglass polishing compound on a couple of cars. It worked very well. I used what was originally made for aircraft windows but I know there are several other products out there. It just takes some patience when working on it.
I wonder if some of these headlight polishing kits might work? I always did mine by hand, not machine.

Re: Scuffed rear window on C2 soft top
Elio,
Meguiars sells 3 products which work very well on convertible top plastic windows and Plexiglass used on hardtops. I have used it on both.
They are #17 a cleaner, #10 a polish and #18 a detailer. Use all 3 and the results are great.
They are sold under Meguires professional products online or in stores.- Top

Re: Scuffed rear window on C2 soft top
Eilo,
Used the above mentioned products with a random orbital polisher on a 63, 356 I'm restoring. I knew I was going to replace the soft top so I went after that rear window which was difficult to see through with gusto since I had nothing to lose. Turned out excellent and the top was early '70's vintage. Also, I used the soft pads on the polisher.Attached Files- Top

Re: Scuffed rear window on C2 soft top
Elio, I use the Meguiar's products also with very good results. In the 60's before many of these products existed I used Allison's Aircraft Plexiglass Cleaner and for severe scuffs I used watered down toothpaste. The toothpase also worked on Polo White nitrocellulose lacquer to remove the yellowing oils as did white polishing compound. My paint never had a cavity.

Re: Scuffed rear window on C2 soft top
Speaking of cavities; I always wanted to polish my hardtop window, but it has stress marks in it from being stowed on end. Also, when you do any kind of polishing, don't you get a distortion? I guess this would only be important on a glass windshield.
