    C1 wheel lug nut markings

There was a comment recently (and I can't find the thread) regarding the markings on C1 wheel nuts. If I recall correctly, there were triangles (three at 120* spacing around the edge of the face), or four arcs on the face around the hole and some other possibilities. Wondering what would be correct for an early 1957.

    Thanks for any help.

    Rod,
GM bought tons of lug nuts every year and some were marked with manufacturers marks and some apparently not marked.
I don't believe there is any right or wrong concerning lug nuts.

The triangle lugnuts have 2 different styles, on one the triangles point toward the center and the other they point out.
There also seem to be two styles of triangles that point toward center with one being larger triangles than the other.
Do not know if any triangle styles are original to 1957.

Many C1 lug nuts also had a circle, a thin line that ran around the center. I have some pictures I can post tomorrow of 6-7 different styles.

GM used 500,000+ lug nuts every day in the 50's and 60's, from at least eight suppliers, all under the same part number, with multiple suppliers per plant. Highly unlikely that any lug nut is more "correct" than any other lug nut.
