1966 serial #8180 original engine

If by chance this car is still in existence and owned by anyone here, the original engine to it is/was for sale on CL (posting removed now though). Checked the registries, no matches.

If you want to give it one last try, plug the vin into instavin.com or one of the other sites we discussed a few months back to see if the car is actively registered in a participating state. It will cost $5 and then if there are no results, you can argue for the $5 back.

Unfortunately with only 300 cars per year registered the registry does not yet hold significant statistical value with respect to a production volume of 25000 per year (or more).

Hi Phil, Steve should know more, he saw the CL listing. I was explaining how to find out if the vehicle shows active in the USA. There is always that chance that the car was purchased and exported as a collector car out of the USA, or has not been registered in a long time, or, like my 66, no explanation why the MI registration does not show, nor good detail on recent PA ownership, but the 1st title transfer (we deduct from the text) 8-4-1969 shows in the InstaVIN data.
