    Roy,

I'd like to thank you for all the help you've provided me, both directly and indirectly, and add my vote for staying. I hope you'll reconsider, but if not, all the best to you and your family.

        Roy

I wish you and your family well. Merry Christmas to you. We still have the other forum to converse when necessary. Thanks for making this NCRS Technical Forum a little better. It will be less without you but standing up for principles you believe in is what this country is all about and I applaud you for doing that.

        God luck to you.

Roy, I was fortunate enough to get to finally meet you briefly at the San Jose national convention. I hate to think of losing not only your great wit, but also your irreplaceable knowledge base on one of my favorites, ......1955 Corvettes.

Wishing you, and your entire family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

            Ridge.

Pretty hard to comment on the why's and wherefore's influencing your decision to leave Roy, although I can understand those you have divulged to us, it is the one's we are being kept in the dark about that trouble me. Your presence among us has been invaluable, you have regaled, entertained and informed us with your myriad and varied posts. Your parting under these shadowy conditions and with some ill-defined reasons is having the effect of leaving a very unpleasant taste in my mouth. Although unfortunate, if you cannot be persuaded to remain among us, I join the group and offer you my sincere best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a bright, healthy and happy New Year and many more ahead. Every good wish for success and happiness in future. ~Cheers~

                  Re: Roy Braatz

Over the past few days, I've read and tried to absorb and assimilate all of the comments.
I clearly understand Roy's position and his feeling. And quite honestly, I don't blame him a bit. Without question, Roy goes back a long way (anyone bother to look at his member number?). The jerks, premadonnas and ah*!e$ have survived with basically ZERO punishment or admonishment. But let someone bend the rules a little (who by the way isn't one of the above mentioned personalities), and they are hung out to dry, so to speak.
I personally have been treated unkindly at some meets in the past, simply because my 56 is considerably NON-NCRS standard. It won't even Third Flight (and I knew that from the beginning-------------without even being judged). BUT IT IS A CORVETTE! It would seem that even if a Corvette did not meet NCRS guidelines or standards, both the car and the owner would be accepted and acknowledged by the NCRS organization. Not so, at one time. But, that has improved. That attitude has not completely disappeared, but it has been recognized and SEEMS as though it has been addressed in recent years. But as a result, a lot of Corvette owners and potential members have been turned away from NCRS.
I once had harsh feelings toward NCRS, and like Roy, had considered letting my membership expire, but I didn't.
So, Roy, I also wish you would reconsider.

First let me say I think it will be a big lose to alot of people on this board me included. Roy's infomation and photos were a help to lot of us. However I don't understand the need to post on this board his decision to quite on his fellow members, which in my opinion is what he is doing. No orginization can please all of it's members all of the time. And if you break a rule you should be punished. What happened between him and the powers to be are just that, between them. I respect his decision and his right to make that decision, but I don't think it needed to be posted here. Just my opinion and as far as I know we are all still entitled to one.
                    Terry

                          Re: Roy Braatz

I'm sure that Roy has thought long and hard about his decision to leave and has his own personal reasons for doing so. Rather than other starting petitions or paying his membership which now puts him in an awkward position by 'forcing him' to be a member, why not respect his choices and wish him well?

He and his cars have earned some of the highest possible awards within the NCRS and his '55 complete with bubble top, accessories and trailer was prominently displayed at the NCRS Nationals in Monterey CA. This is something that only a very small and select part of the membership can achieve in terms of recognition. I had the pleasure of meeting Roy and admiring his car at that meet as did hundreds of other members. The compliments continued here on the DB as was to be expected.

Good luck Roy, enjoy yourself in your future ventures.

And let's not forget Roy's ultra rare factory '67 small block coupe with the factory big block hood. A truly remarkable find.

If I was going to quit the NCRS I would just not pay my dues and life goes on. The last thing I would do would be come on here a have a little wine about leaving. Let alone threaten twice to quit on here. These posts make me sick. You guys haven't figured it out he wants to be asked back just like last time. Roy either quit or grow up and or stay a member it makes NO difference to me I'm tired of hearing it. That my rant.
