    Auto Enthusiast Still Refusing Refunds

Yesterday I sent them another e-mail requesting a refund of my subscription and once again they refused stating their company "no refund" policy. I know last month people were talking about a class action suit, but I think the cost in time and money would be prohibitive so I came up with another suggestion. Eariel today I filed a Consumer complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's office and a mail fraud complaint with the US Postal Inspection Service. I was able to do both of these online with very little effort. I would recommend everyone who feels they were ripped off by Amos to do the same thing. The URL for the Postal Service is https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/f...Complaint.aspx and To find your state attorney general web site, just Google "xxxx attorney general" (xxxx is your state) and you should get the URL for the site you need. I posted this info on the Corvette Forum as well and would appreciate it if anyone with access to the other auto sites (Mopar, Mustang, Pontiac, etc) getting hosed in this deal to pass this info to them.

Just a suggestion for people not wanting to go through the hassle of a suit or whatever, maybe Amos would transfer the subscription to another car lover you know. Might make a great gift for a car lover on your list ! That's what I did with mine. Gave it away to a young guy who loved the issue.

Tom, thanks. I don't even open mine. It goes from the mail box directly to the garbage.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Pass it off to a school kid walking by someday. Might keep the hobby alive a little longer.

....they sent me two copies of the "innaugural issue". Gave one away, the other in the trash when I saw it was about 70% ads.

Tom, giving away your subscription is your choice, however I don't feel compelled to reward a company that stole my money. My recommendation has nothing to do with a law suit, which I actually discouraged. I simply used two avenues set up so consumers could complain to govt agencies when they feel they got ripped off. I included the Post Office, because in my opinion when they sent me a renewal notice knowing full well they weren't going to publish the magazine anymore, that is mail fraud.

You're correct. It is just a car publication, but it is still theft.

I don't see how they get by with this. What if I contracted with someone to build them a set of cherry kitchen cabinets and showed up at their house with a set of Hickory cabinets. And I told them we have changed and don't do Cherry anymore. I wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court.

I just flipped through the second issue before tossing it in the recycle bin, it's just as bad as the first. What a waste of trees.

Is there anybody that actually likes this mag?

                      I agree. No improvement.

Ditto on the second issue. Actually they sent me two this time, for no apparent reason. I wonder how many issues the advertisers agreed to? There are so many ads they get lost among themselves further diluting the readers' chance to even seriously look at them. If that 'combination' formula worked for other subjects they publish, so be it, but I'll wager they totally misread the car hobby folks and will pay dearly in lack of renewals. Anybody hear any feedback from the Pontiac or Mopar crowd on the new format?

Pure Junk. Too bad we have to waste natural resources on this garbage.

Except for the fact that they "gave" me the 1st issue, then cut a month off my expiration date for the Enthusiast at $29.97 (owing 3 issues) and wanting me to renew in January expiration at $20 per year. Not only a ripoff, but a piss-poor magazine to boot. I sent my letter with a copy to Richard Cordray, Ohio Attorney General.

I will be surprised if Auto Enthusiast lasts 6 months.

I received a response from the Colorado Attorney General's office and they recommended I file a complaint with the Ohio AG, because that is the state they are located and the Colorado AG doesn't have any juristiction. They provided the phone number and web site.
