WCFB Rebuild Questions

Hi all,

I am tinkering with rebuilding some WCFBs and had a couple of questions.

(1) I notice a couple of types of accelerator pump plungers. One is just the straight shaft with the plunger on the end with a flat bottom. The other has a two-piece shaft with a spring in-between and the plunger has a protruding nub. What is the purpose/application of these different plungers?

(2) Anyone know where I can get the little screws for the butterflies?

Hi, you might try Chuck Smith in the Driveline, he makes many parts for WCFB's.

I've only seen the plungers with the spring so I can't help you there but for the screws, any carb. rebuild shop should have a box full of them. They're very common.

Try Fastenall for the small screws and Edelbrock for carb replacement parts as their carb is based on the AFB.

Independent Auto parts shops have the rebuild kits and just the accelerator pumps. I also have good luck with NAPA, PARTS PLUS, and AUTO ZONE for entire kits at lesser prices for both WCFB ans AFB carbs. Generally next day to get them.
