Thoroughly enjoyed that, thanks. Note the lack of masks, dust control, no gloves, etc. Love it. Just the way we used to do it.

Can anybody see the VIN in picture 114?

How many of the pilot cars were fuel injected coupes?

I have seen #13 and it is a silver FI coupe.

...I'm suprised so much on the chassis is painted "black". The halfshafts, the front springs, the rear differential, and most all of the A-arm hardware that is supposed to be judged as "natural" from the factory???

Remember thees are pilot line cars. I'm sure there are a lot of things different about them compared to normal assembly line cars!

Does anyone remember the '63 assembly line slides at the Copper Mountain National in 198? where the owner of a Z06 shown being assembled was in the audience?

Many of you will recall that Michael Hanson pointed this info out to us long ago.
The pilot line chassis is blacked out considerably but the assembly line 63's weren't much different from that chassis you know.
Too many of us that own 63's (me included) have way too much stuff bare that should be black.

Would the pilot build include a variety of the major option configurations as a way to expose and work out any last bugs before production?
