1962 Generator Adjusting Bolt and Washers

I'm trying to determine what the generator adjusting bolt and washers looked like on a 1962. Don't care so much about the markings on the bolt head. I'd use any of the usual markings - "TR", "E", "WB", etc. I am more interested in appearance.

The AIM lists the part numbers for this hardware as follows:

    122007, bolt
    120214, lock washer
    446363, washer

I'm trying to figure out what these parts looked like.

    1. What is the size of the bolt? Was it an ordinary looking bolt? Or, did it have a shoulder? An indented head?

    2. What kind of lock washer? The split ring kind? Or the toothed kind? Inside teeth? Or, outside?

    3. Pictures seem to show the washer as much thicker than the usual washer. Is this correct?

For instance, see EBay item 370469868095. Are these items correct?

Christopher, found info on bolt & washer, but none on the lock washer. Generator adjusting bolt in 56-7 was 100121. Gary....

    1) 122007, bolt - multiple uses in 56-7 Corvettes; hood hinges, seat frame to floor, cowl vent to dash, emergency brake to firewall, etc.
    head markings; L, WB1C, small E, small T
    5/16" x .75"L, NF

    2) 446363, flat washer; ID 3/8", OD 7/8", thickness 3/32" in early book and 5/64" in later books

      Thanks, Gary.

      1) The usual Corvette parts vendors sell bolts for the applications you reference. However, the bolts they sell are 1" long. That's what I have in there now, and that's what got dinged when my car was judged. I believe your description of the bolt as being 5/16" x .75"L, NF is correct. The 1" bolt I had in there protruded a little bit in the front of the generator.

How much, if any, does the correct/original bolt protrude from the front of the generator?

      2) So, it's a thick washer. That's what I suspected.

      3) I believe the lock washer is the split washer type.

Can anyone confirm the lock washer type?

I'm interested in an answer to this as well. (1962). Anyone have originals and can post pictures?

As far as the bolt length, when I was having my 62 car judged (by Dennis Sagamang (28577)) I was told that it should be flush with the front of the generator. So if you have a repro bolt (which all are too long) screw it in, mark and cut it flush and then clean up the end thread.

          Hope that helps.

          Tony
