    Tires

I'm looking for "service replacement tires" radial construction for my 66 by an OEM manufacturer with correct 5/8" whitewall. Do they exist? I appreciate help!

Discount Tire still sells the Goodyear Integrity. It's a radial currently available in B/W, also made in 5/8" W/W but you would D/T to find them for you. They found a set of 4 in November '10 from a store in Ohio (I'm in TX). The W/W sells for $90.

The Firestone FR380 was another choice I'm not sure if it's still available in whitewall or not.....

Thanks, so far all I have found is from Diamond Back, expensive as you know. Kelsey Tires does not sell them in a radial.

has anyone used, bought the BFG Radial T/A or Firestone Brand from Diamond Back? Were you satisfied, happy with your purchase? I don't mind spending the extra money if it is a good product.

The good news - they are a great tire. I have them on my 65.
The bad news - according to the Goodyear dealer, the whitewall Integrity has been discontinued. You might be able to find some leftovers if you hurry.

I have the Diamond Back Firestone FR380's on both my 67 and 69. They have been excellent tires.

Yes, they are available with white walls. (I just bought a set, from Sears.) In fact, I think that's the only way they come now. However, the white walls are not the correct width and will not get any judging points, even though Firestone was an OEM for white walls. Diamond Back will modify the FR380s so that the width is correct, but the cost goes up by about $500 for a set. Diamond Back has other alternatives as well, such as Michelins that they modify.

I purchased their Firestone Supreme (retaining the lettering) back in the summer of 2008 for my '66...I'm a very satisfied customer.

                        Re: Tires

Firestone has 3 current day radial tires in w/w and in correct size for a '66 or '67:

                        FR 380 (good)
                        FR 710 (better)
                        Affinity Touring (best)
All come in w/w but the width is not 5/8". I measured it at about 6/8".

As I said in my previous post the Goodyear Integrity is your best bet for reasonable money. It's a NOS brand and the w/w is 5/8". They are out there but the tire dealer will need to search for them. And make sure the DOT date is not too old if you intend to drive on them regularly.

                        Good Luck
                        Ron

I've had BFG Radial T/A's on multiple Camaro's and a Nova. They are great tires.

Will a 205-70-15 tire have any rub issues on a stock 67 ?
