Just changed out the 4.11 for a 3.36. How warm should the pinion area be after driving for about 40 minutes, pretty much level terrain and moderate speed? Thanks for your help. Dan K.

Re: C-1 Differential Operating Temperature
Don't know a precise temperature but I'd expect to be able to comfortably lay my hand on the differential after a casual drive.
The differentials for my vintage racer run around 180F and 220F after several hard laps. (The warmer of the two was built a little "tighter".) You couldn't lay your hand on either one without experiencing pain.

Re: C-1 Differential Operating Temperature
Hi Danial
Can't tell you what temp. to expect, but I can tell you an easy way to measure yours. Buy one of the laser heat guns . Before you know it you'll be measuring the temp. of everything on you car. Also usefull in finding cold spots in your home around windows, cold walls,or hot electric boxes.I've had one for years and use it quit often. It's also a great way to drive your cat or dog crazy.
