    Tires for 1967 Coupe

I have a set of Firestone redline 75.15 bias ply tires mounted to a set of bolt-ons and just acquired a set of rally wheels to mount a set of radial tires for better handling. Can anyone tell me what the correct tire would be to replace the bias ply with the radial and where is the best place to purchase these tires? Thanks for your help

    Steve,

I think you need to move this from the dealer section to the technical section. I would look at the 205-75-15 Michelin X redlines at Diamond Back tires, not cheap but a great tire. Are you going to be selling the redline bias tires, I'm looking for a set ?

      Steve,

Mike was correct about your post being better served in the technical discussion board. I will move your post accordingly. Regards,

      Arland

Mike is also correct about the Michelin X radial redlines at Diamond Back. I have put a set on my '67 coupe, mounted on American Torq-Thrust Ds, and they handle so much better than those bias ply things it is like night and day. Save the bias ply for judging, they are best stacked in the garage most of the time.

          Steve,

Here's a thread about some more tires to consider:

Steve, I'm using 215 70 15 Michelin Semmetry (all season) from Discount Tires. Reasonable price, has been a good tire on my 67 for 2+ years. They come in B/W and white stripe. Four other guys in mt group have the same tires and have not heard of an problems.

I had 215's on my big block 67 & when I turned sharp into a driveway with a slight curb bump it hit the lip of the left front fender. I see no reason to put bigger tires on than 205's. Better safe than sorry. I have had no problem since. What reason would you need to put bigger ones on. My car set up with no front spring sag.
