1965 firewall Heater Core lines-isulation?

on the 65 at the fire wall were you have the heater core supply and return lines entering through. On some cars I see nothing and others I notice foam insulation?... does anyone know the correct details reagrding this area? maybe a picture?

The two foam donuts on the core pipes were only used in '63.

Checked my non-air '65 and can see the edge of a black foam seal or gasket sheet at the inlet and outlet openings of the heater core. The '65 AIM confirms a gasket around the whole core. On my other '65 (C60) I can't see anything, but, per the AIM I might be missing a gasket. Last time I had the heater core out was in 1981 .
