    Convertible top weatherstrip retention

There are two horizontal weather strips along the top of the door window. The AIM shows the furthest forward screw on the forward weatherstrip going into the convertible top frame. The hole in the frame has no threads and is too large for the #8 screw. The screw (in a kit from paragon) is too short for a nut. The screw that was installed was clearly not original (countersunk type)

What is the correct screw/washer/nut combo?

Also what is the correct screw/washer/nut combo for the little weatherstrip block behind the frame by the door?

    Thanks

    Mike

    This should help.

    With the rubber torn away.

The front screw is drilled and screwed directly into the top frame. This was done after fitting because the frame is adjustable in that area. It should be #8.

Are those small screws the ones in the front? If not, is it a machine or a sheet metal screw?

I am not clear on the hole. I see the screw in the hole.

You dont see the hole on the edge of the rectangular flap at the top of the picture?

OK I see it now. I will have to check but when I took the thing apart, the screw in there was a #10 countersunk screw so the hole is probably oversize.
