Re: Fan clutch rebuild - suggestions on a THIRD source?
...thanks to everyone else for their responses. I really struggled with whether or not I should post this, but I thought in the end that I should. I wanted other people to be aware of what I went through as part of their decision making process. My aim is not to run him out of business. I still believe he does quality work. I, however, will be getting my fan clutch restored elsewhere.

Re: Fan clutch rebuild - suggestions on a THIRD source?
Terry, There is no secret hotel or conspiracy. You can register now and send us your car information later. We have tried to be accommodating to our guests. The Electronic registration only went live yesterday afternoon. The amount of work that Gary Chesnut, Rob Musquetier and John Waggoner have put in to the Electronic registration is to be commended. We are the pilot project prior to Novi.
We hope you attend but that is your choice.

Re: Fan clutch rebuild - suggestions on a THIRD source?
Scott,
I know about the electronic registration -- I was one of many Beta testers for the Novi electronic registration. Since I plan to bring the new Corvette to Ontario I will wait until my insurance is in force to register. Sending the registration in all at once, when I am sure I can participate, is less of a hassle for me and the folks dealing with registration.
My point was that the Ontario host Hotel seems well know to some, even before the meet registration went live. Early reveal of host hotels is not uncommon now days. That is a welcome change from past practice.
You probably missed the posts in the thread about the change of dates for Novi when I indicated I would have to change my hotel reservation, and some follow-up posts wanted the hotel information. So early hotel reservations cut both ways.
And I already have a hotel reservation for a Regional in the Fall. I like to get them early -- even if I later have to change or cancel or barter them away.
Edit add: I apologize to the original poster for dragging this thread way off topic. I should not have done that.Terry- Top

Re: Fan clutch rebuild - suggestions on a THIRD source?
Dan had done the last 3 Fan clutchs for me. Great job, Looks better than all the other restorers and I had them back in my shop within 5 weeks.
To top it all off, he is a great guy and also answers the phone when you call him.
I would not go anywhere else after all the "CRAP" from the other 2 guys.

Re: Fan clutch rebuild - suggestions on a THIRD source?
Two questions:
1. Surface finish, is it the original aluminum cast? or painted?
2. If a fan clutch has been 'previously' restored with the epoxy approach, can they be rebuilt with the correct metal crimped over?- Top
