Looking for information on the stampings on the top plate of SIGNAL-STAT Hazard Flasher Units. I have 2 Chevrolet Hazard Switch Units that are supposed to be for 66 CORVETTE. Both are in CHEVROLET boxes. One has the Part Number 986639 and the other box is missing the ends with the P/N. The application listed in the Parts Catalog for P/N 986639 is 66 PASS, CORVETTE, G-10 (Van) and the box also indicates All Passenger Models - G-10. Both of these units are embossed FLARESTAT MODEL NO. 105 and stamped Y114. The unit in the box w/o a P/N has an Instruction Sheet, titles "TRAFFIC HAZARD LAMP SWITCH & FLASHER INSTRUCTION SHEET CHEVROLET-CHEVELLE-CHEVY-CORVAIR-CORVETTE- TRUCK G10 and the bottom of the page reads PART NO. P/N 3886945, SHEET 1, 7-12-65
I have 2 other USED units that I don't know what they are supposed to be for. One is embossed FLARESTAT MODEL NO. 105 and stamped Y113 and the other is embossed FLARESTAT MODEL NO. 105 and stamped Y133.
Does anyone know what the stamped Y number designation means? Is it a manufacturing or production code number?
The wiring on all 4 units looks to be the same, so I don't know what the differences in the units are, aside of the difference in the Y numbers.
Inquiring minds want to know.
