Followed your cross country posts all summer! What is your recommendation for a great lobsta dinner in the area this time of year? The Lobster Pound I believe is closed until spring. I may be uup there next weekend for business.

Portland or Freeport? Budget and Atmosphere ?

Most restaurants near waterfront in Portland, or Harrerrseeket Inn (Arrowhead Tavern) in Freeport ,

Doesn't have to be budget but not real formal; more causal. Bringing the family, not just myself or business clientel. Would like some atmosphere (view like waterfront) but primary thing is great food. Will be in both Portland and Freeport (quick stop to LL Bean).

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Jack!

Sounds like a great ride, but I can't imagine me being able to enjoy it with my fingers frozen numb. Jack you are incredible, and certainly enjoying your car year around.
I am not sure it was the Freeport town dock, but several years ago, I was at a dock in freeport, and ate at the Harraseeket restaurant. Best lobsta I ever had and home made Ice Cream to go with it. It is the same dock where the Brewers boat yard is located. Is that the town dock where your Sunday photo was taken?

I do wear gloves, It is not very cold with heater on. I have lived in New England for 37 years, so I am used to being in cold weather, skiing etc.

Now that I can't ski, (can but don't with 2 fake hips and knee) I use my car as my skis. It is much warmer than the slopes.

Hi Jack,
Thank you for the response, I thought that scenery looked familiar. I lived in CT for most of my life, and toured the coastal waters in 30-32 foot boats that we owned, and doing off-shore fishing from Montauk NY.
I have been off-line for a while, just came back from a nice warm tour of Daytona Beach and Orlando in the C5. Not as exciting as the 65, but a great highway cruiser and a lot better gas mileage. 30 MPG going down and total 27 MPG for the whole trip. And that is cuising the highways between 70 and 85 MPH. The 2003 also has more room for the wifes "stuff", we had a great time.
