Mine arrived on the 19th. Fastest it has ever been delivered. Maybe Illinois got "the call" this time.

Imagine my surprise to find The Restorer and Driveline when I arrived home. This quick delivery never happens to me. Larry may be right about Illinois this time.

Terry...maybe you got it this time...and maybe the USPS has worked on their delivery system(wishful thinking)...but I wouldn't hold my breath...it might change with the next issue...you may not even get it...so let's all hope that they've changed for the better...and by the way...thanks for the nice comments by everyone...very much appreciated...

Re: Restorer / Driveline here today....

                    Good evening all,

Got mine as well but am curious regarding image of '65 dash on back cover of Restorer. Glove box door appears to be that of 66-67 vintage (I believe)as the word Corvette is perpendicular rather than slanted. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thought it odd a Top Flighted car would have had an incorrect glove box door.

                      Mike,
Since I know squat about mid-years I can't comment on the features of the glove box door, but I would ask if you would have a Corvette lose 270 points for the deviation you mention (if that is a deviation)? Without splitting the points too carefully that is what a Corvette has to lose to miss Top Flight.

Well then there is the +10 points for the fire extinguisher, NCRS decal and battery cut off so I guess the car can lose 280 if it is trailered. Drive it and it is a whole other ball game. Even the Corvettes that score 100% (you frequently see them advertised) have something wrong with them. Either the judges didn't find it, or they decided it was too minor to deduct for, or the owner used those freebie points.

This time is payback for all the times (even when I was Editor ) that I got them last.

Very nice job this time Vinnie, as usual. I read The Restorer cover to cover -- after my above post.

Comment wasn't made in regard to point loss but more in that of detail. You and anyone else that does or has done a restorations knows a great deal of time and effort goes into the resto. Glove box in a high detail item inside the interior. Would think something like a "correct" glove box door would have been used.....that's all I meant Terry.

I understand, and I didn't think you meant literally what I stated. I was, however, trying to make a point. NO Corvette is perfect -- even the Bowtie cars. One has to learn to study many Corvettes and be observant -- as you have been.
