I remember while i was at work one day at Luby Chev. i was called to the sales managers office and they said the zone office called to verify that is the trim combo i wanted and that it was not a mistake.

Bob Wingate sold the same color combo with a 350/350, 4 sp, full option, air conditioning coupe out of Clippinger Chevy, in Covina, CA in 1969.

The original owner called him this past Christmas and wants to sell it as his bad hips won't let him drive it any more. It has only 21000 plus miles.

Same item listed on paperwork. Saddle Leather RN code.

Notice the hood is part way open, The drivers side motor mount broke and the alternator went through the hood and the clutch cross shaft popped out of the ball socket. The car sat in the service dept at Luby till june till i got paid off. I don't remember what they paid me.I had to look at the car every day at work, it was very traumatic to see the car every day at work for 4 months.

Ralph, Was Luby the Chevy dealer over by Fenway Park?

Yes it was on the next block from Fenway Park, After it closed up in 1978 it later became a Macdonalds, The service dept. building is still there and is used as a parking garage it is on Kilmarnock st.

With some Chinese parts Ralph's 435 is probably Top Flight by now
I'll never forget the time a semi-tractor decided to move in the lane I was in with my 69 390. Look at this old thread: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...70709&uid=5956

What's a Kilmarnock? Is that where a leprechaun hides his gold?

The Luby Chevrolet Parts Dept. was a treasure trove for me in the mid-70's. I got my '62 in 1974 with no engine, no transmission, no interior, and missing many other parts. The only way to get my car on the road (It was used by me as a second car then.) was to get lots of parts. They were getting scarce then. I worked for an insurance company that sent Luby a lot of business, so we got a discount on service AND PARTS!!! I ordered hundreds of parts from them. They had very few in stock, and had to order most of them. I don't think they liked doing that. But because I was an employee of their favored customer, they did it for me. In those days the Holy Grail of parts was the Corvette Parts Catalog. They were paper and replaced about 4 times per year. If the Parts guy liked you, he gave you his old one. I still have mine from 1973. I went through that catalog, page by page, and ordered just about every 56-62 or 58-62 part still listed then. I still have some of those parts that I can't figure out where they go. I went over there every week for months with a new typewritten parts order, and I would pick up last week's. About half of them would generally come in. I remember them telling me that in 1974 or a little later, Chevy had big parts price increases because their Parts Division was spun off from the car division as a separate profit center. I bought most of my parts before then, and with the big discount, I saved much. Very fond memories of that place. Really helped me out at my start in this hobby.

Does anyone know why SPECIAL PURPOSE SUSP. has a line through it and HD is written in pencil next to it on the build sheet.
