    Re: Alternator Fan

    Wayne,

Here are a couple more fan-pulleys that I just found in a box in my garage attic:

    1100693, 5 B 26 alt. (Feb. 26, 1965), 3843342 AJ fan-pulley stamped "2" (Feb.???)
pictured on left, note the 6 dash stampings in the vicinity of the hole.

    1100693, 6 B 11 alt. (Feb. 11, 1966), fan-pulley wo/part # stamped "1" (Jan. ???)
pictured on right, note the 6 circular stampings in the vicinity of the hole. I believe this is a 3843342 fan-pulley made by a different vendor, same size pulley part, same size fan part.

The GM #800594 fan was used for most applications after about 1970 through about 1979. It will SERVICE all 1968-79 applications.

The 800594 fan first appears in my 1972 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (effective Jan. 1972). GM # 800594 does NOT appear in either of my 1971 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs (effective Sept. 1970 & effective Jan. 1971).

Gm # 1966990 was replaced by GM # 800594 in January 1971 as per Chevrolet Parts History.

The 800594 fan probably made it's debut sometime during the 1971 production year.
