Where to get correct brake drums?

I have a 1960 restoration and per the TIM & JG the front and rear drums should have the spring around the brak drum.

I have attached a picture of what I think may be an original off my car. This one has a part number GM 3752623 19. It has a very obvious raised area that creates a groove for the spring (red arrow in the picture).

I have looked at replacement drums on Corvette Central and Paragon that have the springs, but I can't tell from their web site if there is a distinct raised area above the spring.

Does anyone know if these drums are correct, or know of a source for correct drums? I need replacements for my car.

    Thanks,
    Don Harris

Without the groove, brought about by the "raised" area, the spring will not stay in place. I bought replacements for my 63 and they did not have the groove. They also would not align with the shoes properly, so I had to cut my originals.

        Don,

I purchased drums from Paragon for my 61 and had no problem installing the drum springs. If I recall, they sell two different drums, one for the springs and one without.

        Regards,

        Dennis

Dennis, did your drums have a groove for the spring? I saw that Paragon had drums with springs, but I could not see that there was a distinct groove for the spring.

            Don,

Yes, they did. I purchased the drums and then the springs and installed them myself.

Why not call and speak to them about the drums you are interested in?

My drums have part number 3752623 in them. Not sure if that is correct but I believe it is.

My old interchange manual says 51 - 56 chevy are the same but perhaps they did not have the spring ring?

Do a google search on "3752623 drum" and see what comes up

Hopefully someone can confirm the above.

I have one drum with that same part number. I assumed it was a correct GM part. I did google the part number before. Got a hit for a couple but there is only a listing of parts when I pull up the hit. No contact info.

I've found some on ebay, but never know what to expect when I buy used parts from folks on ebay. Especially something like a brake drum which can look decent, but not enough surface left to turn to get a good braking surface.

                Thanks,
