Anyone know of a restoration shop or restorer that was in the Dover Delaware area back in the early 1990's. My 1966 red/red 427/425 roadster was body off restored in that area back in 1989-1992. Would love to chat with the restorer!! He did an absolute Fantastic Job!

Hi--

There are/were three very knowledgeable and outstanding Corvette specialists in the Dover, Delaware area during the approximate time frame that you have targeted (and that I personally knew); and any of the three might have accomplished the restoration that you are researching.

Ron Still, Owner of Still's Auto Body, Smyrna, Delaware, (302) 653-6060, (old telephone number), accomplished mechanical work, body/paint work, and full frame off restorations. If still in business, I would try to contact Ron first.

Also in the Dover area was Richard Clark, another Corvette specialist who had a shop outside of Dover. I believe Richard was a member of the First State Corvette Club, Dover, DE.

Finally, Dennis Michaels (sp?), (who I believe had previously worked for Eckler's), had a shop south of Dover. I believe Dennis might have closed his shop prior to 1987, but he might have remained in the local area.

Anyway, all three individuals worked on various Corvettes that I owned during the 1983 through 1987 time frame, and their work was superb! However, since that was over 24 years ago, (and I have since moved from the area), that is the reason that some of the "details" that I have provided appear rather "hazy". Of course, you could also contact the First State Corvette Club, as I am sure the current members could help you in your associated research as well.

Rob, That is an Absolute Fantastic Lead!! I will do my best an try to contact the names you mentioned. I called around to different restoration shops currently in the area and the name Dennis Michaels (sp??) was mentioned!! My car was owned by an individual in the Millsboro area and I beleive he owned an Electrical Contracting Co. / distributorship in Millsboro. He had many classic Corvettes at the time including a yellow 1972 LT-1 roadster with only 18,000 original miles. If you happen to remember him or know anyone that may I would greatly appreciate it.
