I am trying to figure out what Dill valve stem cap is the original on my 67. I keep the pressure monitors on my tires and threw all my valve stem caps in a plastic bag marked originals. I have Dill at the top, 627 at the bottom, looking at the top of the cap. At the 3 o'clock position between Dill and 627, I have very, very small letters and numbers, one has I J, one 70, one 30 or 38, one 3F or 3P, one N 2, one I R or I 2, three with 50 or 56. I also have 3 with no small letter or numbers. what is correct and what are the rest? Thank you Dale

Dale, know that has been discussed before just can not find for you.
As I recall the font size on the DILL will be somewhat smaller for a C2. The 627 is typical and the small stuff @ 3 appears on only some caps.
(I have 8 caps - only 2 have the stuff @ 3)- Top

Re: 1967 Dill valve stem caps
Could be that ALL of the variations are 'correct'... The ancillary emboss marks are thought to be mold/source identifiers and we know we don't know their exact 'translation'. I wouldn't lose sleep of which of the caps to use...- Top

Re: 1967 Dill valve stem caps
Jack H. gives good opinion on the meaning of these codes. However, that doesn't stop some enterprising eBay seller with what must be a huge stash from offering sets of 5 with matching codes, digit being the year and letter = the month (in his opinion).Attached Files- Top

Re: 1967 Dill valve stem caps
Guys, I resonded to another thread with some photos of the valve stem caps on my 1995 LT1. They all have DILL and 627 on them. The third characters are all different.
