I have a early 66 327-300hp built on Dec 15 1965. What are the correct numbers I should have on my fuel pump? I heard the numbers were changed later around March 1966. Thanks for any info Larry.....

Re: 1966 Early 327-300hp fuel pump
Larry,
I say the "FF" after the "4657" means June 1966 after researching for the last 30 years but many out there in Corvetteland do not agree with me. There are other threads in the NCRS Forum about fuel pump date codes as well as the NastyZ28 website.
Here is one example:
NOS AC fuel pump, GM # 5621665 with date code on box November 1965
pump stamped "4657 KE" (Nov. 1965)
Casting "65" with 9 "hash marks" (September 1965) in hole above the outlet.
I sold this pump at Corvette Carlisle over 20 years ago.
I have many more examples including original pumps from original engines.

Re: 1966 Early 327-300hp fuel pump
The 5594657 pump (AC # 4657) was sold over the counter as GM part # 5621665.
The 1967 Corvette AIM (UPC 6, sheet C1) also lists the 6440433 pump for the 327 engine.
The original fuel pump on Jerry's very original 1967 Corvette (June 29, 1967) is stamped "FG 40433" (where I believe "FG" = June 1967).
I would assume that 6440433 would convert to AC 40433. My 1970 Hollander lists their # 309 for the following pumps: AC 40503, 40433, 40232, 6858, and GM # 6416712. I believe that all of these pumps are the non-rebuildable type.
My 1966 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Oct. 65) ONLY lists a pump for the 1966 Corvette w/Sp.H/Per. , GM # 6415325 (AC 40083). No pump is listed for the 300 HP 1966 Corvette.
My 1967 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Apr. 67) now lists GM # 6415325 (AC 40083) for the 1966 Corvette with no restrictions on engine HP.
GM # 6416712 (AC # 40503) is listed for the 67 Corvette w/327.
Are you now more confused?
I believe that the 4657 pump is correct for the 66 Corvette 300 HP for the entire production year (refer to Noland Adams 63-67 restoration book, page 326).
BTW, when I bought my 1966 Corvette in 1979 with a non-original engine it had a non-rebuildable AC fuel pump stamped "DG 6858" (dated April 1967 as per my date code theory). The 1967 Camaro AIM (UPC 6, sheet C4) lists the 5656858 pump until 02/01/67 and then replaced with the 6440524 pump. The actual change on the assembly line can not really be determined.
