I have a 62 Vette off body restoration project going with my frame sand blasted, primed and ready for paint. The primer is DuPont. What luster paint should I use? Flat, Semi Gloss, Gloss or what? I don't know if it matters or not but the body is Roman Red. I need help please...

Re: 62 Vette frame paint
Joe,
When th car is complete, should the tie rod tubes (not the tie rod ends), have quite a bit of black overspray on them from the blackout process?
Thanks,

Re: 62 Vette frame paint
This will surprise many of you, but I've use rustolium satin black for chassis for years now.It is very affordable and can be purchase at any Home depot. rattle cans are $4.49,quarts are about $20.00 and gallons are about $80.00. I do all the normal prep on the frame and when ready for color I reduce the rustolium by 25% with high quality enamel reducer. One of the great advantages of this product is you can spray some of the hard to reach areas with the spray can before ,during ,or after and it matches perfectly.Try it on some small parts first ,you'll love it. Rustolium also makes a great clear and something called frosted glass which I've used to lightly coat bare metal parts.
