I still have the original brake hoses in my 70, I would like to change them, but want to maintain originality. Who do you recommend has the most original correct set of brake hoses for this car?

Re: 1970 Brake Rubber Hoses
Don't use Zip products brake hoses. I tried to replace the hoses on my 70 LT-1 simply to have rubber less than 40 years old. I could not the connection between the original steel brake line and the right front hose fitting to quit leaking. I had to put the original hose back on to solve the leak. I didn't even try the other side. Two new brake hoses for sale cheap.- Top

My guess is that there are a very limited number of true manufacturers of these hoses, probably one offshore and one US. I suspect that someone will let you know the US source but I'd probably try your local auto parts store.

Re: 1970 Brake Rubber Hoses
I had to change the front hoses on my 70 and the hose from VB Products fit perfectly.
Old hoses did not have DOT on them. New hoses do have DOT. I see NOS correct hoses on ebay fairly often. Don't need the points that bad just yet
Still have originals on rear.

Re: 1970 Brake Rubber Hoses
The hoses available from all of the major brake parts sources like Delco, Raybestos, Wagner, etc. are manufactured in Taiwan or China. I do not think that any of the major sources have any USA manufactured hoses.
I believe it's been mentioned previously that Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes offers hoses manufactured in USA. I know nothing about these hoses, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1970 Brake Rubber Hoses
Hi Les,
I replaced the 4 hose on my 71 with new hoses.
I'd looked for a few years for hoses that had the same style of 'crimp' at the ends as the orignal but didn't find any.
I'm still keepig my eye out for the 'crimp'.

Re: 1970 Brake Rubber Hoses
The original crimp used for the brake hoses on pre-1973 Corvettes was a single crimp type. You won't find this on ANY currently manufactured brake hoses. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
