Corvette Fact Book 63-67 by M.F. Dobbins (page 227) states that very late 1967's had 1968 style bulbs with vertical lines in the Triangle. My 67 was built 3 weeks prior to the end of the 67 model year. I have the 67 T3 bulbs with the "vertical lines" in the triangle. Compilation of data in this book is from well known Corvette enthusiasts including the NCRS. First Edition of the book was in 1977 followed by eight more editions. Here is my question. What can I expect from the NCRS judges when they view the "vertical lines" on my T-3's? Should I receive a reduction of points, I stand ready to show them this book with hopes they accept the "written word." Your thoughts and opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: 67 T3 Guide
I'd go with the LL repops and take the small deduct, you never know when one of those originals is going to quit, then you have a bigger deduct, not to mention you can see where your going at night with the repops. JMHO- Top

Re: 67 T3 Guide
Jim,
If you think that the bulbs are original to the car, remove them and see if the orange warranty date stamp is still on the backs of the bulbs, if so take a picture of the dates which should be dated prior to the final assembly date of your car. This should prove to the judges that they are correct. My 67 with a completion date of Dec. 7, 1966 has the original bulbs dated Nov. 18, 1966. (example "N2 6 18")

Re: 67 T3 Guide
James, this is good advice. If you have a full set of Lectric Limited reproduction headlights, it is a 3 point deduct in Flight Judging. If you burn out a bulb, it could potentially be a 25 point operations deduct in Flight Judging.Chris Enstrom

Re: 67 T3 Guide
There's NO WAY that I can fathom as to how somebody would lose 25 points during Operations Check!!! Headlights are checked for low beam filament operation and high beam filament operation.
In order to take a full wipe, you'd have to blow out ALL SIX headlamp filaments to generate no light whatsoever...- Top
