Jerry, thanks for sending the link to the old post. It was a great help. I have a new switch from LIC and tested it by unplugging the installed switch wire harness and plugging in the LIC switch ... brake lights, hazard, tail and directional all worked. Now I'll install the replacement switch.

Question - should the plastic connector on the switch wire harness be black or dark brown? My old one (a replacement) is black and the new LIC replacement is dark brown. I can switch to the black one if black is the original color.

    Ron,

The plastic connector should be the original black one.

You have to take it off the column harness anyhow to thread the harness up through the steering column to remove the old, and install the new one on a 67.

It comes off with a very small flat blade screwdriver used to bend the little tabs on the connector wires. A little tedious job You can practice on the new one.

Make sure you mark the connector for the first wire at the side of the connector. The others all go in order and the connector socket on the other side is empty. (I once reversed the positions and the switch didn't work)

Make sure you bend the little tabs on the connectors back before you insert them into the connector.

    Have fun,

Thanks again Jerry. I thought it should be black. I'm going to use the black one from an old replacement I saved. I've already taken the wires off the old one and marked the order.

Hope to install it this week and will make a final post with the results.
