Re: 61 Undercoating
When I worked for Cadillac back in the 60s, Cadillac left all the cars uncoated and left it as an option to be sold by the dealership, it was a moneymaker for them.
The question I have is if a new car leaves the dealership uncoated or coated wouldn't both be correct?
I plan on coating due to the cost of the new paint job the added protection afforded by the coating to protect the paint in my opinion is well worth it.

Re: 61 Undercoating
The wheel wells received under coating from the factory. The degree of undercoating varied per car/person applying undercoating. I would expect to see it on the head light buckets and on the splash shields. If you plan on driving the car I would apply a heavier coat on the bottom of the fender to prevent stone damage to fiberglass and affecting the exterior paint. You may lose a point or two for too much undercoating, but you will protect your paint.
