'61 Parking Light Pigtail Socket Install

I am installing an after market front parking lamp bulb socket on my '61. The after market socket has two wires instead of three as original. How can do I hook up the two wire socket to the original harness? Do I run an independent ground from the bulb socket case to the black ground harness wire from the car? Thanks, Larry

Larry, I did a similar rebuild on my 1960. I soldered the ground to the case the originals was probably brased but if you clean an area you should be able to solder the ground on and then cover it all with the boot.
