That was an essential artifact that helped me track down the original dealer in Ogden, and eventually the original owner. That ticket stub is part of the car's archive. Keep the stories coming, very interesting.

      Back in 1988 or so I was installing new carpet in the back of my 63 FI convertable. Took off the fiberglass cover that hides the soft-top hinges and there was a lot of dirt and an old gas credit card receipt. It was from 1967 in Las Vegas Nv. charged to a constuction company in Wichita Ks. The signature was still very readable. Went into the house and called information in Wichita. Got the number and called the guy. Orginal owner who was glad to hear about his old car. Still have it somewhere.

        Several "Animal Crackers" found under the seats of a 300SL I bought from a fellow later convicted and imprisoned for running a large child pornography operation. I've always wondered if the car had been used as a prop in one of his movies.

            I always tape a business card to the top of the spare tire tub.

              "There's treasure in them there hills" . Discovered during the tear down of my '66 roadster were some very desirable items: tape dispenser, vent window crank and...................money!

                When I recovered my '61 door rests in 2009, I found a note that I wrote and put inside behind the black insert, that says Recovered May 26, 1974, from when I first recovered them after getting the car.

                  I didn't find anything in the car but the chassis was loaded with corn, the car came from Missouri and Kansas.

                    About $190 in change and a gold ring in an `84.

                    Might be the record for change.

                      While restoring my '74 convertible, we found a top header casting complete with nylon bushing that Bubba dropped into the body cavity during assembly. Guess you could say this is a documented NOS part!

                        Hello Wayne;

                        That is a lot of coins. Do you still have the GOLD ring? Very pricey now.

                            Even though I've owned this '65 car since 1970 I didnt find this radio repair tag until I tore the car down in 2007. "Emmert" was the selling dealer. They must of done a good job because its still working

                                I found the typical loose change and various pieces of junk in a 66, but the one thing that brought back some "Great Memories" was a Drive -In Movie reciept .

                                Still I would have, and still will for that matter, trade it for $190 in change ! What say you Wayne ?
