C-2 Tail Lights

I have 2 C-2 tail light housings. They are numbered 5954231 L and 5954232 R. I would like to know what they fit, as the assembly manual only lists 910417-8 and 910419-20. Both "lamp assemby,tail light". Any help would be appreciated. They also have "SAE" and some other lettering that I dont have here. Thank you Dale

Hi Dale,

I'll take a stab at this one.

5954231 casting = LH Inboard = AIM 910419 (1967) (it should say "LH INBOARD" in raised letters in the crease on the back side, 6 o'clock position). The "5954231" should be cast into the flat part of the back side, along with the "SAE" and other lettering.

5954232 casting = RH Inboard = AIM 910420 (1967) (as above, it should say "RH INBOARD" in raised letters in the crease on the back side at the very bottom). As above, the "5954232" numbers should be cast into the flat part of the back side, along with the "SAE" and other lettering.

To complete the set:

5954227 casting = LH Outboard = AIM 910417 (1967)
5954228 casting = RH Outboard = AIM 910418 (1967)

As for what they fit, they definitely fit 1967 and I think they should fit 1963-1965 cars that do not have the optional clear back-up light at the inboard position. 1966 had inboard back-up lights as standard, so I think 1966 is the only year the two tail lights you referenced would not fit.
