Should a corvette built in 2/22/63 have ignition key with or without a R stamping? Should it have a large hole or small?

Based on my research I would expect the key to have the R trademark symbol and to have the large hole.

Carl,

If you have what you are convinced is the original key(s) and it does not have the R on it, it could be original to the car. The general cutoff date is Jan 1, 63 for the start of the R keys, but inventory of non-R keys may have meant some use after Jan 1.

But if you are thinking of buying NOS blanks that the judges won't quibble with, get ones with the R.

Regardless of R vs. non-R, it should have the large hole in my opinion.
