It is about time for the Spring start up of the 54. What is the secret to prevent ATF from coming up the fill tube and spilling out? I seem to remember that I should put it in Drive rather than leaving it in P as it warms up. I sure don't have these issues with my C6. Bill

Re: Burping a 54 Powerglide
i think the reason for putting it in drive was the fluid in the transmission flows differently when in drive. comments have been made that extended running in the park position is bad for early powerglides. usually, if my powerglides were to burb it was as soon as i put it in drive! It is about time for the Spring start up of the 54.
